Labor Day Weekend and Other Events

Labor Day Featured 402x470 1Come celebrate this Labor Day weekend at Oasis at Gold Spike, one of best hotels near Fremont Street. Located just a few blocks south, Container Park will be hosting their Labor Day Bash, September 6, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be a balloon artist and face painter to entertain the little ones. The first 100 children that enter the park will get a surprise free gift as well. There will also be games played on the front lawn near the stage.

Partiers can enjoy $5 lunch specials with food provided by Big Ern’s BBQ and Cheffini’s hot dogs. Live performances will take place on the stage starting at 5 p.m to 6 p.m. with Peter Love and ‘90s cover band, Empire Records, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 

Other upcoming events at the Container Park include family movie night with Disney’s “UP” on September 3, and a special balloon artist for the kids, “Finding Nemo” September 10, and “Wreck-it Ralph” September 17. All movies are on Tuesdays, starting at 7 p.m. Don’t forget to bring a blanket.

Be sure and catch the last summer installment of the mini-beer fest series, Open Container on September 18, at 7 p.m.
