New Breaking Bad Exhibit at Mob Museum in Downtown Las Vegas

Fans of the AMC television show “Breaking Bad” will rejoice at the news that the Mob Museum now has a permanent display for Walter White’s organized crime as a methamphetamine kingpin.

Breaking Bad Exhibit Makes Mob Museum Its New Home

Mob Mus ScaledFans will appreciate the homage on display: the infamous yellow hazmat suit worn by actor Bryan Cranston, gas masks and a rubber apron from the show.

Creator of the hit series, Vince Gilligan saw Walter White’s character evolving into someone like Al Pacino’s character in “Scarface.” Therefore, “Breaking Bad” has several allusions and homages to gangster movies like “The Godfather: Part II”, “French Connection” and “The Sopranos.”

David Thomson, editor of Breaking Bad: The Official Book, describes the series as “a story about the longing of family wholeness set against violent departures from conventional morality, in which the very lives of families may be threatened (and sometimes by other family members).”

The show aired between 2008 and 2013, and anyone could find enjoyment in seeing an exhibit of current pop culture, though no doubt those who watched the show will find a special enjoyment from seeing artifacts from the show. Walter White’s journey to becoming Heisenberg is one of many examples of pop culture’s fascination with organized crime and all its downfalls.

The Mob Museum, a non-profit organization in Downtown Las Vegas, is dedicated to telling the countless, thrilling stories of organized crime and the law enforcement that put a stop to it.

When you visit Las Vegas, stay downtown so you can walk a few blocks to the museum. Oasis at Gold Spike hotel is conveniently located in the middle of the party in downtown so you’ll have access to restaurants, the Fremont Street Experience and the biggest collection of crime stories that the mob never wanted you know.
